Hi, we're Nomadic Cat.

We make cat yurts inspired by the traditional yurts of Central Asia.

The cat yurt is a way to share two things I really love: my culture and my cats.

Just like a real yurt, our mini felt yurts are sturdy, cozy, and stylish places to relax. While cats love nestling in the soft felt enclosure, people love the exotic charm of a cat in a yurt. 

The yurt is also an interesting piece of home decor. Each yurt features a traditional Kazakh design motif and looks great next to some plants or cushions--or wherever else you decide to pitch cozy base camp!

It's a cat's instinct to seek snug enclosures and it's a yurt's job to be a snug enclosure!

Also -- a cat in a yurt is just really cute!

For now we only offer one yurt design, but I look forward to adding more authentic colors, patterns, and designs inspired by my Kazakh background.

+ Cats love small, enclosed spaces where they can feel safe and secure. The yurt’s enclosed design provides a perfect hideaway, giving them a sense of protection and comfort.

+ There's something about felt cats just love. While my cats have rejected plenty of plush or polyester pet beds in the past, there's something about this felt material's texture that makes it a favorite place to curl up and relax.

+ The yurt’s size is just right for cats, offering them the perfect balance between space and that tight-fitting coziness they love. The yurt measures 15 inches (38 cm) in diameter and 13 inches (from very top to bottom). The door is 7 inches across and 7 inches high. Large enough for all cats to fit without sacrificing the compact coziness and quiet seclusion cats are all about.

+ Durable stitching and material make our yurts stand the test of daily napping use. The felt is gentle to the touch but strong enough for even the largest of Kitty Khans. Cats like it best when the yurts are full of fur, but machine washing is ok in the event of furballs (cold water, delicate spin + air dry) but repeated washing will weaken the felt a bit leading to a fuzzier, stouter yurt.

+ It's fun to have a mini-yurt in your place!
